AWPL will have representative in VRK

In accordance with the Lithuanian law, each political party that crosses the electoral threshold has its representative in the General Electoral Commission (Vyriausioji rinkimų komisija, VRK). Therefore, representatives of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (AWPL) and of “The Way of Courage” will join the VRK.

AWPL’s candidate is Waldemar Urban, and “The Way of Courage” proposes Irena Malinauskienė. The new composition of the VRK is to be confirmed by the Seym. „We hope it will happen in January”— said Zenonas Vaigauskas, the leader of the VRK.

25-year-old AWLP’s candidate has a degree in economy; he graduated from the Vilnius University. After graduation he worked in the investment department of the administration of the Vilnius region, and currently he is a department manager in the parliamentary fraction of AWLP.

Irena Malinauskienė was born in 1958; she has degrees in economy and the law. In the 1990s she worked in the Kaunas self-government. Recently she has been working as a lawyer.
