Inhabitants are encouraged to profit from the structures of e-democracy

Since over half a year the inhabitants of the Vilnius district municipality can profit from the renewed website of the local government, which enables them to subscribe to the very latest information, to watch council meetings live and to ask questions and receive responses. This is a result of the project “Implementation of the structures of e-democracy in the local government of the Vilnius district municipality”.

On the website www.vrsa.lt, in the section “E-democracy” the inhabitants can get acquainted with the matters considered at council meetings and having singed-up, they can also express their opinion by leaving a comment.

The local government’s website is divided into three sections: “Inhabitant”, “Entrepreneur” and “Tourist”. The las one is subdivided into several thematic domains: “Education”, “Culture and Sport”, “Transport”, “Environmental protection” and others. This solution has been introduced in order to make the information seeking easier and faster.

During the implementation of the structures of e-democracy in the local government of the Vilnius district municipality the efficiency of public sector has increased through the electronic solutions, the cooperation between the inhabitants and the government has enhanced and the perspective of the information society has been created.

The management of the office has become more transparent, efficient and the local government’s managing competence has increased. The project has helped in the modernisation of the local government’s activity.

On the website of the local government of Vilnius district municipality available at www.vrsa.lt we can ask questions, subscribe to the latest information on local government and watch videos of council meetings (the agenda of the council meetings can also be found on the website).
