In the incoming parliamentary elections in Lithuania, the Electoral  Action of Poles in Lithuania (AWPL) has an ambition to take the departments of education, agriculture and logistics, says Delfi, the Lithuanian webpage. Waldemar Tomaszewski, the chairman of AWPL, was interviewed by the journalists of Delfi and said that AWPL has real chances to become a part of government coalition.

It’s possible that our people will become some of the ministers. We took the fifth place in the municipal election (in 2011) regarding the number of votes, which gave us 7% of votes in the country. We may have even a dozen of representatives in the Lithuanian Seimas, said Waldemar Tomaszewski.

The chairman of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania is convinces that there is quite a lot of competent people among the members of AWPL to take the ministry chairs. According to Tomaszewski, the representatives of AWPL could lead the departments of education, agriculture, logistics, and economy. These are the departments, where our politicians might accomplish much and implement our electoral programme, he said.

Delfi reminds that the Labour Party, led by Viktoras Uspaskich, wants to take the same departments, while its representatives want to become the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Energy.
