R. Klipčius: The purpose of school merger is to improve quality of teaching

“The aim of the reorganization of the school network is to increase the quality of teaching,” assures the mayor of the Švenčionys region Rimantas Klipčius. The guest of the ‘Political Salon’ considers the accusations that local government aims to – allegedly – shut down the only Polish school in the area to be unfounded. On the other hand, the community of the Žeimena school in Pabradė fears that the authorities are planning to merge the Polish secondary school with a Lithuanian one, and thus the only Polish school in the region will cease to exist. As it was with the Polish school in the Širvintos area.
