More than two and a half hundred euros have been allocated to the activities of Lithuanian national minority cultural centres

Considering the recommendations of the Project Evaluation Commission, the Department of National Minorities allocated 259 thousand EUR funding from the state budget for project activities of cultural and integration centres of national minorities in 2019.

195 thousand euros is devoted to nine projects of Kaunas Cultural Centre of Different Nations, Centre for National Cultures of Klaipėda City Municipality, Folklore and Ethnography Centre of Lithuanian National Minorities, House of National Communities and Visaginas Culture Centre. The allocated funds will be used for non-formal education of children and adults, Lithuanian language courses, development of intercultural dialogue, fostering national identity of national communities, cultural-educational activities of national communities.

Another 64 thousand EUR was allocated to two programs of the Roma Society Centre for implementing the socio-cultural integration of Roma.

Compared to the previous year, the financing of the activities of the cultural centres increased by 28 thousand EUR.
