Pololonistic Educational Center at the University of Vytautas Magnus

The Polonistic Educational Center will be established at the Academy of Education of the University of Vytautas Magnus in the future, – Jarosław Narkiewicz informed during a joint press conference with the chairman of the Sejm Committee of Education and Science Eugenijus Jovaišą and the VDU rector, Juozas Augutis. Recruitment for Polish studies at this university will start in 2019.

The parties also signed a contract regarding continuity of education of Polish and foreign teachers in other subjects for Polish schools.

”We did not stop at the very existence of the Polish teacher education program, and we extended it to a structure that will be called the Vilnius Polonistic Educational Center. This center will have multiple functions : educating Polish teachers, creating opportunities for specialization in the second subject, creating opportunity of additional specialization for already working teachers. The third aspect, important for teachers of Polish schools: the Center will be involved in raising the qualifications of educators, depending on the needs, in cooperation with the institutions of the Polish State “, said Jarosław Narkiewicz in an interview with Radio Znad Wilii.
