Polish Theatre from Vilnius onstage in Poznan
Polish Theatre from Vilnius performed at Poznan’s stage. In Polish Theatre in Poznan Irena Litwinowicz’s actors showed stage version of “Lubonie”- historical novel written by Józef Ignacy Kraszewski.
Actors arrived in the capital city of Greater Poland because they were invited by The Society of Friends of Vilnius and the Vilnian Region. As Ryszard Liminowicz, chairman of the companionship says, the spectacle had an especially symbolic meaning.
Novel “Lubonie” by Józef Ignacy Kraszewski tells a story about the beginnings of Christianity in Poland. The action takes place at the Prince Mieszko’s manor in Poznan, at the Prince Bolek Luty’s castle in Prague, and at the superior of Lubonie manor in Krasnagora (later Gorczyn), which currently is a borough in Poznan.
The author of the adaptation is Małgorzata Jagielska from the Posnanian Society of Friends of Vilnius and the Vilnian Region. Spectacle has been already performed a few times by the members of the companionship, however, being performed by the Vilnian actors, audience saw it for the first time.
