Gediminas Kirkilas: the surnames spelling legislation – in spring

Legislation on the surnames spelling in the original form will be adopted during the spring plenary session – ensures the vice chairman of the parliament Gediminas Kirkilas.

The guest of the today’s “Political Salon” added that the resumption of the work of the Polish-Lithuanian Parliamentary Assembly depends on the adoption of the surnames spelling legislation. Kirkilas also said that the bill about the surnames spelling in the original form has already successfully passed through all parliamentary committees. “We are sure that the statute will be approved not only by the ruling coalition, but also by a part of the parliamentary opposition – liberals and of course the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania fraction” – pointed out the vice chairman of the parliament.
