The oratorical contest ‘To beautifully tell the small homeland’
On Saturday December 13th, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the main building of the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in Vilnius (Studentų 39 street), room 501, the oratorical contest for the Polish community in Lithuania ‘To beautifully tell the small homeland’ will take place.
The aim of this contest is to draw attention to the betterment of skills of logical, clear, and correct phrasing of thoughts, as well as the development of respect for the homeland and its culture, the awakening of interest in their own region, its history.
Participants of the contest may become all above 16 years old. The eliminations for the contest will be conducted in different age groups.
The participants of the contest have to deliver a speech:
-the participants in their speeches should present topics related to their own region, its monuments, history, interesting and honored people
– duration of the presentation: 10-15 minutes
-there will be a possibility to use multimedia during the presentation, however, visual effects should be only an aid, and should not shadow the speech
When evaluating speeches jury will consider:
– General presentation of the topic
– Suggestive comments
– Clarity and consistency of formulated thoughts
– Correctness of language
– Richness of language
– Contact with the audience
There are various prizes prepared for the winners. The main prizes- tablets.
There will be oratorical workshops for the participants conducted by PhD. Barbara Dwilewicz. The workshops will take place on December 5th ( 1 p.m.) and December 6th (10 a.m.) 2014, in the main building of the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in Vilnius (Studentų 39 street), room 255.

- Name, surname
- Year of birth
- Topic of the speech
- Date of the workshops (December 5th or 6th)
- Telephone number and e-mail address
The organizer: The Center of the Polish Language, Culture, and Didactics of the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences in Vilnius.
