The opportunity for young Polish people in Lithuania

The International Parliamentary Scholarship is one of a kind project that offers the possibility of active participation in political and parliamentary life of Poland to young people from Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, Italy, Kazakhstan, Canada and Ukraine.

The program is addressed to university graduates who are interested in gaining  first-hand personal and professional experience. During the scholarship the participants of IPS under the leadership and care of a member of the Polish national parliament can take part in works of chosen parliament committee. It offers young people the opportunity to get to know the Polish parliamentary system and political decision-making processes.

Additionally, the participants will be given theoretical basis of  issues they learn by participation in courses at the University of Warsaw.

The main purpose of this fellowship program is to support the interest of the young in democracy and the society, as well as to arouse their interest in political and public life of another country. Moreover, the aim of IPS is to bring closer the tradition, history and culture of Poland to the participants.

The conditions of admission: Lithuanian citizenship; a degree confirmed with a diploma; very good knowledge of Polish; age- 30 years old at most.

The program takes place from April 13th  until July 10th 2015.

Documentation required:

In Polish language: application, personal questionnaire, documentation of language proficiency, resume, letter of recommendation, doctor’s certificate.

Copy of the original: identity card, diploma of a degree.

Attachments: two passport photos.

The deadline for sending application documents is November 30th 2014.

The program is conducted by the Chancellery of the Parliament in collaboration with the University of Warsaw. The participants are granted the scholarship of 1800 zł per month from the funds of the Chancellery of the Parliament. The accommodation, a single (a lump sum) reimbursement of travel expenses from and to Warsaw from a place of living, as well as the accident insurance, the medical insurance, the third party liability are also granted to the participants.
