Wołkonowski expressed his thanks to Kaczyński through the agency of Adam Lipiński
Jarosław Wołkonowski expressed his thanks to Jarosław Kaczyński through the agency of Adam Lipiński. Adam Lipiński was at that time in Vilnius and visited the department of University in Białystok. The thanks was connected with the fact that seven years ago, it finished with success to talk Lithuania round to establishing Polish High School there.
It wasn’t easy, the Dean of Vilnius department stressed. “Yes, I know how Jarosław Kaczyński did it. I’m not going to say about all details because those are complicated issues” – said, Adam Lipiński, parliamentary representative of the Sejm of RP and the chairman deputy of “Prawo i Sprawiedliwość” (Law and Justice). The parliamentary representative added that they took care of many matters while the year when his party ruled. Among all the matters are, for instance establishing Orlen in Lithuania and the Card of Pole. The Parlamentary representatives of AWPL, the chairman deputy of the Sejm, Jarosław Narkiewicz, and parliamentary representatives Michał Mackiewicz, Józef Kwiatkowski and Rita Tamašunienė visited the Polish department with Lipiński.
„We’re interested in the situation in Poland. We’re glad that Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice) are highly supported. We just have to say that it is important for us to parties, who rule, understand that here is an initiative which aim is to solve any problems that occurred after the II world war. Because the intelligentsia had to run away from here” – Jarosław Wołkonowski said at the meeting with lecturers and students of UwB department.
At 2 p.m., Mariusz Błaszczak is to arrive to Vilnius, so one of the aims of Polish parliamentary representatives’ visit is the Daszkiewicz’s case. “It’s obvious we help Daszkiewicz and it will be an effective help. In Šalčininkai, I’m meeting with Poles, who live there, and I’m going to try to help them” – Lipiński said.
The chairman deputy said that a situation similar to those in Šalčininkai would be unacceptable in Poland. “I can’t image that a Polish citizen could be punished for hanging a plate, in his area, in a foreign language. It’s simply impossible” – Lipiński said in Vilnius.
