Waldemar Tomaszewski: These are not arguments, only insinuations

“This is probably a letter written in the office of Vilnija which members present nationalistic opinions and do not want to change them” – said Waldemar Tomaszewski, the leader of Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (EAPL) commenting on the proclamation about excluding the EAPL from ruling coalition.

“Vilnija has written hundreds, if not thousands, of such letters so there is not any reason to be concerned about them. EAPL’s participating in this coalition has a positive influence on the country life. Our people have never been involved in any political scandal.” – added Tomaszewski. As he claimed, charges presented in this letter are fabricated:

“It is another letter probably written in the office of Vilnija which has nationalstic opinions and its members are not willing to change. These are not arguments, only insinuations. They are saying that we are not telling the truth; on the contrary we are telling only the truth, which has been confirmed by international documents. They were presented by Polish schools as well as the fabricated argument that we allegedly had had to gain 7 percent of votes.. It is absurd, though. (…)”

Over 60 representatives of Lithuanian science and culture, as well as Sąjūdisu activists signed the proclamation about excluding the EAPL from ruling coalition. In the letter to the government of the country, they are claiming that EAPL’s actions are directeced against Lithuania.
