The originators’ declaration on the development of a square by Józef Mackiewicz’s house in Czarny Bór
According to the information which has been published on a portal zw.lt/Radio of Wilia, concerning the development of a square by Józef Mackiewicz’s house in Czarny Bór, we want to insert a complement of it. The idea of consolidation a memory of Józef Mackiewicz in Lithuania’s territory originated five years ago in the progress of cybernauts’ discussion on “Vilnius Courier” ’s portal.
The originators were the undersigned. The newspaper office of “Vilnius Courier” and also cybernauts actively proffered the help. After ineffective trials of getting a permission to built a bilingual memorial plaque in Vilnius, in the building which is a property of Vilnius Archdiocese, where in the interwar period the newspaper office of “Word” had its residence, in autumn 2009 we turned with that issue to the self-government authorities of Vilnius region and to the local government office in Czarny Bór. After acquiring an initial permission for the idea of developing the territory by the house where the writer lived, the former habitant of Czarny Bór, currently living in Bydgoszcz artist painter Jerzy Puciata, the former Chairman of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers, devised a plastic project of whole undertaking.
Mr Jerzy Puciata also passed four ideological plaques, including a visualization of the projected square, to the Local Government in Czarny Bór. It is worth mentioning about the participation of Mr Tadeusz Aszkielaniec, the district head of Czarny Bór, in the efforts to develop this place properly. At present, owing to active, social efforts of the undersigned and the ones mentioned in the information which we are complementing, an endowment project of the initiative has been submitted. We are hoping for its positive consideration and accomplishing irrelevant works, yet this year.
We thank the Centre of Education and Development, and also the Village Community of the Local Government of Czarny Bór, for supporting us in this project. Leaping at the chance of the publishing this initiative by the website Radio of Wilia, we want to express our satisfaction with the efforts made in a tremendous administrative proceeding and with the obtainment of funds in the issue discussed.
