“Talents of the Vilnius Region 2013”- the  project that started in May but has been suspended for some time – is coming back. Applications can be sent to the organizers till October 1. Children and the youth aged between 6 and 23 will have a chance to present their talents to the audience and the jury and delight them with singing, dancing, playing or with plastic arts.

The project has been initiated by Zbigniew Lewicki, famous musician, composer and  arranger and organized by the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the Vilnius Region. The aim of the project is to discover and promote talented young people, arouse artistic sensitivity and show the artistic output of Vilnius Region’s inhabitants.

There are five categories in the competition: dancing, singing, playing an instrument, recitation and original style. The best contestants can win (except for the prize gifts and diplomas) free classes and consultations with specialists of various disciplines as well as concert tours in Lithuania and Poland. The competitors will also be able to join the best artistic bands from Vilnius Region.

“Owing to reorganization we were supposed to give up the project but there were so many people interested in the competition that  we just couldn’t resign. We had even calls from other regions so we decided to continue the project and return with it in Autumn. The project will be organized together with the Cultural Centre in Niemenczyn” – says Wioleta Cereszka, director of the Cultural Centre in Rudomino.
