A diploma awarding ceremony was held at the LEU  lecture theater today (25 of June). Among others, the students of Polish Studies received the master’s and bachelor degree.

Three students of Polish Studies received masters’ degree diplomas, whereas seven – bachelor’s degree.

“Three active student-teachers received the masters’ degree this year. I would like to congratulate the ladies  for their effort, determination and willingness to study, and  that they successfully combined their career and studying” – the Chairman of  Polish Sciences and Lithuanian Teaching Department of LEU – Dr Irena Masojć – said, while congratulating the students.

There was satisfaction and euphoria during the diploma awarding not only at the stage, but also among the audience, even after the ceremony was finished.

“I am beside myself with joy because of the diploma.   I have completed the bachelor studies and started my job at school, and the master degree study faded away. I was striving to get the degree for many years. I am very happy, since I could get back for my degree to the University and study. There is an incredible atmosphere at the University. The lecturers become students’ friends, which is not so popular at the other universities. It is nice to attend the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. People working here are very knowledgeable, and are warm hearted. Studying here was a wonderful experience in my life. I work at school as well and the diploma is necessary for me. I am very grateful to the Head master of the school for his waiting for my diploma and for giving me a chance to get it” – the teacher of the Vilnius John Paul II gimnazija Elżbieta Zacharewicz shared her feelings with us.

Dr Irena Masojć addressed the bachelor students in her speech, too.

” This is an extraordinary feeling when one receives the first diploma. None of the following ones would ever bring that emotions. This is a moment of joy and at the same time a moment to think (what’s next), since you are at the turning point of your life. I wish you then, to make the right choices and to go the right way. If we can help you with anything, you can count on us” – the Chairman of the Department said.

Dr Irena Masojć thanked the students for their co-operation recalling, that the University is not only the educational institution, but provides the academic and  scientific events.

” When I began my studies at the University I did not think, that I would be a teacher and that it would be useful at all. I can say now, that I do not regret my decision. I visited Poland many times and the visits gave me a lot. I know, that it will be useful at school, since I am going to be a teacher. The education level was very high. I can say, that the students feel at the university at home, and that means that the lecturers take care of us and we do have very good contact with them” – commented bachelor Eliza Tomkiewicz to zw.lt

Dr Irena Masojć emphasized that fewer students finished their study this year, comparing to the previous years, and this is because of the new educational reform  – change in financing the studies.
