On Friday (August 27) in the hall of the House of Polish Culture the bachelor diplomas were distributed for the third promotion of the University of Bialystok’s Faculty of Economics and Informatics in Vilnius.

Out of 63 graduates (50 economists and 13 IT professionals), 6 received diplomas with honours (the so-called red diploma).

‘Plant a plant and take care of it, count the happy moments lived each day, have many long talks with your beloved one, lift up your self-esteem, laugh every day and practice your body, smile at strangers, limit watching TV, do not live the others’ lives, give happiness to another person’, wished them Rector of the University of Bialystok, Professor Jerzy Nikitorowicz, PhD.

Consul of the Polish Embassy in Vilnius, Stanislaw Kargul, wished the graduates further successes and diplomas, and entering to the intellectual elite of Lithuania.

The Dean of the Faculty, Jaroslaw Wolkonowski, assured that the graduates will easily find jobs. ‘Our graduates are employed in various industries. According to the Ministry of Educations, all graduates have jobs. They own companies, do businesses, work as managers or IT professionals. I’m glad that they also are active socially. Among our graduates we have the Vilnius district councilor, vice-president of the Union of Poles in Lithuania. Our mission is to improve the level of the higher education of the Polish minority in Lithuania. Our students come from local communities and by obtaining a diploma of higher education they get the opportunity to become leaders of these communities, where they live and work. We brought them up in the spirit of Polishness but they don’t create a ghetto, they’re open to people, to the challenges of the modern world’, says the Dean about the graduates.
