Sikorski: Poland is ready for a new opening in the relations with Lithuania

The Polish Foreign Affairs Minister Radosław Sikorski stated thatWarsawis ready for an opening in the relations withLithuania. The Minister added that the case of the Polish minority inLithuaniais under the mediation of the OSCE High Commissioner, Rzeczpospolita has informed.

 “We are ready at any moment for an opening in the relations. But, well, for 20 years now we’ve been patiently asking for the implementation of the treaty’s provisions,” the Minister stated. Sikorski added that the implementation of the provisions of the treaty byLithuania“must be a part of this reset”.

Radosław Sikorski said that the case of the Polish minority inLithuaniais under the mediation of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, who has presented both countries with his recommendations.

“Polandis ready to implement these recommendations. We hope thatLithuania, as a European country, will also show determination in the civilized treatment of minorities,” emphasized the head of the Polish Foreign Affairs Ministry.
