Emotions around act on national minorities, which project wasn’t signed by the government yet, grow rapidly.

Well known antipolish activist Kazimieras Garšva collects signatures against this law. Daily newspaper “Respublika” informs, that so far 50 thousands signatures were collected.

People who signed it demand i.a. defence of the national language, teritorial unity, inscriptions of the localities’ names only in lithuanian language and only lithuanian versions of surnames in lithuanian documents.

Opponents of acceptation the law on national minorities organised pickets yesterday in front of the government and parliament buildings. It was the fifth industrial action against the very important for national minorities act.
