Starostwo of the city of Nemenčinė informs.

Between the 9th and 11th of November this year, a series of events will take place in Nemenčinė celebrating the National Independence Day of Poland.

On Friday the 9th of November, at the Konstanty Parczewski Secondary School stadium, youth-runs in four age groups will take place.

The participants are the youth from schools in the Vilnius region and city of Vilnius itself. Winners will be honoured with trophies and all other participants will receive a commemorative medal.

On Sunday the 11th of November, a series of events will take place to commemorate this important date for Poles. The inauguration will start with a group of cyclists setting off from Zalavas to Nemenčinė. It will be the third bike race in a row. The depature from Zalavas for Nemenčinė is scheduled for 8.30 a.m. After the arrival in Nemenčinė the participants of the race will attend a Holy Mass at 10.30 a.m. which will be held for National Independence Day.

After the Holy Mass, at 11.30 a.m., a procession will set off from the St Michael the Archangel’s church of Nemenčinė to the parish cemetary where a ceremonial wiec will be held in the legionnaires’ section of the cemetary.

In the bike race and the celebrations, guests from Poland will also participate: the starosta of Białystok County, the mayor of the town of Supraśl with delegation, the mayor of the town of Gołdap, and the mayor of the town of Łapy.
