Conference on the 25th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Lithuania and Poland

It has been 25 years since the resumption of diplomatic relations between Lithuania and Poland. On this occasion, on Friday, at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of the University of Vilnius the political scientists, politicians, journalists will meet and discuss the current status of the bilateral relations.

“This is a great opportunity to evaluate the course of the bilateral relations: factors which increase or limit the strategic partnership, the role of history in relations between the countries and the challenges in today’s geopolitical context” the organizers of the Conference wrote. It will be held at the initiative of the Center of Eastern Europe Studies and the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of the University of Vilnius.

The guests who will represent Poland: inter alia Prof. Bogdan Szlachta, Prof. Waldemar Paluch, the editor-in-chief of the “Przegląd Sejmowy” and the adviser of the Marshal of the Sejm of Poland Marek Kuchciński, Tomasz Wicha, the Assistant Advisor of the Marshal Kuchciński, Małgorzata Stefanowicz and Krzysztof Mazur from the “Klub Jagielloński”.

Lithuania will be represented by i.a. the ex-premiers Gediminas Kirkilas and Andrius Kubilius. Rimvydas Valatka, a publlicist will also be present.

The conference will take place on the 26th of August, Friday, at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of the Vilnius University (Vokiečių 10), in the auditorium 402. The beginning at 9:30 AM.
