M. Kuchciński: Don’t spoil something that binds us

Lithuanian authorities obviously don’t understand or don’t hear the voice of their citizens. The polish minority protest was noticed by the Polish representatives: “I came on behalf of the Polish MPs to Vilnius in order to express support and solidarity” – said the vice-marshal of the Polish parliament, Marek Kuchciński in the talk with Wilnoteka.

Marek Kuchciński, the vice-marshal of the Polish parliament participated in the Mass, which took place at the Gate of Dawn on the general strike in the defence of the Polish schools in Lithuania. ” I am at the Gate of Dawn for the first time – said in the talk with Wilnoteka – I experience the visit with huge emotion.”

The vice-marshal came to Vilnius to express support and solidarity with the Poles living in Lithuania, who don’t stop in the struggle for the Polish education, preservation of their tradition and the Polish culture.

The vice-marshal stresses that the rights, which the representatives of national minorites in Lithuania fight for, are guaranteed for minorities – including the Lithuanian minority in Poland. “We encourage Lithuania to apply for the European standards” – says Kuchciński.
