Vilnius young people by running commemorated “Soldiers accursed”

March 1st is celebrated in Poland’s National Day of Remembrance “Soldiers accursed.” The memory of these soldiers, for whom the war is not over on 8 May 1945, also celebrated the Vilnius Polish youth.

March 1 Patriotic Youth Vilnius organized for the first time in Vilnius undefeated Soldiers Memorial Run – “Tracing the Wolf 2015”. Runners defeated 1963 meters distance in the park on the corner, so paying tribute to the soldiers, for whom the war is not over on 8 May 1945 and who by their faith in freedom and justice have paid the ultimate price – their lives.

Distance of 1963 meters, the organizers chose not accidental. It symbolizes the year 1963, when the Nazis killed in the battle of the last Polish soldier Constant, Joseph Frantczak nickname “Lalek”.
Took part in the course of a few dozen people.

Patron of Vilnius was chosen Lieutenant Sergiusz run Zyndram-Kościałkowskiego, nicknamed “Fakir”, killed in a skirmish with the NKVD under Raubiszki on February 4, 1945 year. “He was the last Polish soldier, whose remains were buried in Vilnius Ross. During the German occupation of Vilnius belonged to the Executive of the Army”- said the organizers.
