Aziewicz of parliamentary internships: In Lithuania, the increased interest in the program

On Wednesday (21 January), moving interviews to the International Parliamentary Internships Program Chancellery of the Sejm of the Republic of Polish addressed, among others, to the young citizens of Lithuania. This year we will proceed to the recruitment of nearly 20 people.

“This yearinterest Parliamentary Internships Programme significantly increased – reported as many as 17 people. Certainly not without significance is also positive experience existing participants – many candidates indicates that from them just acquired information about placement opportunities” – zw.lt said Mr Tadeusz Aziewicz, chairman of the Polish-Lithuanian Parliamentary Group and a longtime member of the Selection Committee.

The internships may participate citizens of Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, Hungary, Romania, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Canada and Ukraine. People from Lithuania must be a citizen of Lithuania, higher education attested by a diploma is required and a very good knowledge of the Polish language. The maximum age of the participant 30 years.

“As a precondition for participation in the program is a good knowledge of Polish report primarily Wilno Poles, although in recent years has also successfully compete Lithuanian nationality people” – emphasizes the MP.

International Parliamentary Internships Program, held in the Chancellery of the Sejm, in collaboration with the University of Warsaw under the patronage of the Speaker of Parliament from 2007. Is modeled on the international program of the German Bundestag parliamentary practices and universities in Berlin. To date, the eleventh edition took place, two each year and were attended by nearly 100 trainees from 10 countries.

The internship lasts three months and take part in it after a maximum of 3 people from each country. Program participants receive from the Chancellery of the Sejm an allowance of 1 800 PLN per month. In addition, provided with accommodation in dormitories at the University of Warsaw, global travel expenses from home to Warsaw and back, and insurance against accidents, medical insurance, liability insurance.
