Dariusz Rudzianiec from Vilnius among the winners of Kresy 2014

Dariusz Rudzianiec from Vilnius won the third prize at the final of 23rd edition of the Recitation Contest ”Kresy” for Poles living abroad, which took place in Białystok.

During the Sunday’s final concert in the Białystok Puppet Theatre, names of the winners of the 23rd edition of the Recitation Contest ”KRESY 2014” for Poles living abroad were announced.

Dariusz Rudzianiec from the Szymon Konarski High School in Vilnius won the third prize. The winner of the Grand Prix was Henryk Morlin from the Czech city Cieszyn. (In the last year, the Czech representative -Sebastian Andre Garcia N’Dua was awarded the main prize, whereas the first prize went to Łukasz Kamiński from Vilnius).

The First Prize and the Audience Award went to Włodzimierz Żurawski from Moldova, while the second prize went to Bożena Możejko from Belarus.

A total of 26 contestans from 13 countries took part in this year competition. Lithuania was represented in Białystok by the two winners of the Lithuanian eliminations – Konrad Żytkowski and Dariusz Rudzianiec.

The poetry recitations of the participants were assessed by the jury comprised of the experts on recitation and the culture of speech, conversant with literature and directing. Reciters were in Białystok for the whole week, taking an active part not only in the auditions but also in the theatrical workshops. They were watching spectacles and at the end they met together around the Christmas Eve table.

The president of Białystok City- Tadeusz Truskolaski has  taken the Honorary Patronage  over the Recitation Contest. The main organizer of the contest is Wspólnota Polska ‘Polish Community Association’ in Białystok.

The Recitation Contest ”Kresy” has been organized since 1998.
