Support from Poland for schools in the region of Šalčininkai

Two schools in the region of Šalčininkai were given teaching materials and cleaning preparations, worthy 5,000 PLN: the primary school in Podborze and the special school in Šalčininkai. It is a gift from the West Pomeranian District of the Union of Polish Teachers.

“This is the 15th time I have come to Šalčininkai. I fell in love with your country, your schools and people. I am happy with our successful cooperation,” said Adam Zygmunt, the president of the West Pomeranian District of the Union of Polish Teachers, during the meeting with Zdzisław Palewicz, the mayor of Šalčininkai. He has been supporting Polish schools in the region of Šalčininkai for years. The West Pomeranian District of ZNP (the Union of Polish Teachers) has gifted this year the primary school in Podborze and the special school in Šalčininkai with teaching materials and cleaning preparations, worthy 5,000 PLN.

The President of the West Pomeranian District of ZNP promised also to find funds for organising another outdoors painting in Taboryszki next year.

“This year, participating in Taboryszki in the outdoors painting, devoted to the late Anna Krepsztul, I promised to find funds for it being organised the following year. I believe that such events should not end, so I try to find additional funding,” said the president.

Adam Zygmunt from the Lubusz District of ZNP gave 500 PLN for the multifunctional centre in Taboryszki. This money will be used for the renovation of the facility.

“I am pleased that we have such cordial and faithful friends in Poland. We are also thankful to all the districts of the Union of Polish Teachers for maintaining close relationships with our region. You are always welcome here. I hope that the concept of co-operation will continue to be successfully developed,” said Palewicz.

Partners and sponsors from Poland each year help to renovate schools and kindergartens in the region, provide construction materials, books, secretarial utensils, and offer financial support.
