7th Home Army’s Brigade in the House of the Polish Culture in Vilnius

Yesterday ( July 6th), after the Rossas, the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the ”Gate of Dawn” military operation were moved to the House of the Polish Culture in Vilnius. The participants, among whom there were numerous genuine participants of the operation, could watch a show of the Polish Theatre Study in Vilnius and a documentary entitled ” Ways to the Gate of Dawn”.

The show of the Theatre Study in Vilnius was prepared to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the ”Gate of Dawn” military operation, ”In the honour of those who, sparse around the world, will never come to us”. ” While looking at the young ones that come, I think they are the actual 7th  Brigade of Vilnius. I don’t think they will let anyone down. In difficult moments they will always be themselves. Their effort, their devotion will not be in vain.”- said the theatre manageress and  director of the show, Lilija Kiejzik.

Later, the guests were presented with a film ”Ways to the Gate of Dawn”, commemorating those events. ”I suppose they had had good intentions when sharing those stories. These gentlemen, opening themselves for the first time, were real heroes.”- said Ewa Szakalicka, the director of the film. ”My assumption, also as a film maker was that they constituted a subjective element. Their stories were truly touching.”- Szakalicka added.
