The electoral action of poles in lithuania’s announcement

„The problem of undue and wide stalking, including EP, should be handled by the law enforcement agency”. Media are still escalating the subject of Renata Cytacka’s utterance on behalf of the Forum of Polish Schools’ Parents of Šalčininkai District concerning the situation of ethnic minorities in Lithuania.

The press office of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania expresses regret because of persecution of people in our country for expressing their own opinion about processes appearing in the country. Recently, in the media appeared a new thread in that case: the authorship of Renata Cytacka’s text journalists associate with a minister of EP Waldemar Tomaszewski. The media argue that the document popularized by Renata Cytacka claims it was allegedly created in the computer registered by Waldemar Tomaszewski’s name.

As a response to the media’s insinuations about Renata Cytacka’s case, the Press Office of Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania declares that the only computers registered on Waldemar Tomaszewski are in the Brusselian abode of EP. In January, when the declaration of the Forum of Polish Schools’ Parents of Šalčininkai District were popularized, the MEP was not in Brussels. The electronic mail of the MEP is being checked by his assistants in the European Parliament. This mail address is used i.a. also by W. Tomaszewski’s assistant-linguist, to whom Renata Cytacka and the others often submit texts in Lithuanian and English to check them in terms of stylistics.

As we can see, new threads, which were to be a sensation, burst like a soap bubble; however, they unveil disquieting tendency, namely that the citizens of our country are unlawfully eavesdropped and persecuted by vague structures, their electronic mails are checked, and not only inside the territory of Lithuania, but also outside the borders. The Press Office of  Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania deems that it oversteps all the acceptable limits, against which the problem of undue and wide stalking should be handled by the law enforcement agency.

Reminding the case of latest leakage of confidential information from the Lithuanian President’s office to the media, the Press Office of Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania points out that the leakage of that confidential information to the media, gathered while bugging in EP, is now taking place. It, according to the press office, poses total embarrassment of our country in the eyes of the international community.
