Invitation for leading polish parties leaders

Yesterday, 27 January, the 69 anniversary ceremony of prisoners liberation from extermination camp in Oświęcim was held. Quite a lot delegations from a lot of countries took part in  the ceremony, including representatives from Israeli Knesset headed by Jariw Lewin from the biggest ruling party, Likud – Our Home Israel. Delegations paid homage to the victims of Holocaust and other victims of Nazism. Part in the ceremony took as well the deputy leader of Seimas from LLRA Jarosław Narkiewicz.

Today, deputy leader of Seimas Jarosław Narkiewicz will meet with Vice-Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Eugeniusz Grzeszczak from PSL, Vice-Marshal from PO Cezary Grabarczyk and his equivalent in polish Sejm Marek Kuchciński from PiS. On the meeting, one of the topics that will be raised is a thorny issue that caused tension in relations between Poland and Lithuania, that is putting by the Regional Court of Vilnius horrendous punishment of 43 thousands litas on Bolesław Daszkiewicz, the Administrative Director of Regional Authority of Soleczniki, for bilingual street names.

Both polish politicians as well as public opinion do not hide their outrage over the decision made by Lithuanian supreme court, who under pressure of the representatives of the highest authorities raised the punishment hundredfold in comparison to the fine applied by  the lower court. As the political scientist comments, harassment of the EU citizens for using their native language on the autochthonic areas populated by concentrations of national minorities is unacceptable and hitherto unprecedented.

Their arrival to Lithuania in order to defend Poles living there announced a lot of polish politicians, including PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński, Superior Council of PSL leader Jarosław Kalinowsk and more. Official invitation to Lithuania Jarosław Narkiewicz will hand to them, as well as to the leaders of biggest polish parties, including  PO leader Donald Tusk and SLD leader Leszek Miller.
