2,6 million Lithuanian litas for Balińskich Palace’s renovation

The minister of economy – Evaldas Gustas granted 2 million 600 thousand Lithuanian litas for the renovation of the interior of the Balińskich Palace in Jašiūnai. The sum was granted yesterday, from the  Structural Funds and is to be used for renovating the walls, domes, ceilings, stoves and fireplaces.

The authorities of Šalčininkai District Municipality, where Jašiūnai is situated, have been applying for the funds for 18 years.

For the European funds and Šalčininkai District Municipality’s money during the next two years the façade and the interior of the palace is to be renovated. The palace garden will also be reconstructed.

In two years’ time the palace is supposed to become a tourist centre with  conference and exhibition halls. The Municipality’s authorities signed a cooperation contract with the Vilnius University.
