Baltoji Vokė (Biała Waka), a place situated 30 kilometers from Vilnius, is called a sports capital of the Soleczniki region. Today ( 12th November, 2013) a new football pitch was opened in here.

The opening ceremony started with blessing of the ground by the priest Józef Narkun. Then performed the athletes representing different disciplines and the group of children made the event really enjoyable.

“ Welcome you all to this ceremony. For Baltoji Vokė it is a historical moment. Today we are supposed to open the football pitch. Perhaps it is not a particularly big one, but it is the first pitch after establishing Baltoji Vokė. I also hope, it is not the last one. The fact that we gathered here is not by an accident, since Baltoji Vokė has always succeeding in sport” – said Henryk Baranowicz, the starost of commune Baltoji Vokė.

The ceremony attended the deputy director of  the Soleczniki region`s self – government administration`s, Józef Rybak, who apologized the attendees for the absence of the region`s mayor`s, Zdzisław  Palewicz, and called Baltoji Vokė “the sports capital of the Soleczniki region”.

“ Undoubtedly  Baltoji Vokė is the best in sports. Wherever it represents us, it goes back home with medals. Let this small football pitch serve you as much as possible” –  wished the residents of Baltoji Vokė Józef Rybak.

The funds for the football pitch were collected thanks to the European Union program Leader, the government and the Department of Sport. Apart from that, in the kindergarten and the school in Baltoji Vokė the kindergarten were renovated and soon the building of a bathhouse will be finished.
