The Local Court of Trakai has punished Tadeusz Tuczkowski, a member of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania, for holding an unauthorised rally.

On May 30, 2013, on the square next to the Trakai District Municipality, Tadeusz Tuczkowski, a vice president of the Trakai unit of the Association of Poles in Lithuania and a member of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania, organised a rally against the liquidation of groups of pre-school learners for national minorities and against the politicisation of culture and school system. Around 60-80 people took part in the rally.

The politician did not obtain any permissions for holding the rally because his application had been submitted much too late.

The Court ruled that Tuczkowski had violated the Public Gathering Act. He will have to pay LT 500.

Tuczkowski is allowed to appeal against this court sentence to the District Court of Vilnius.
