Stanisław Widtman is going to represent national minorities

Today government of RL confirmed line-up of the Culture Council. The chairwoman became Daina Urbanavičienė.

Fundamental task of the Culture Council is to allocate financial assets for cultural projects. Into the new line-up of the Council fall 10 people, mostly they are people of culture. Stanisław Widtman is going to represent national minorities.

Stanisław Widtman – he is Lithuanian Polish, who used to work as an office worker for a longer time. He is a biologist by profession. In 1994 – 1996 he was acting editor-in-chief of “Vilnius’ word” (“Słowo Wileńskie”). Until 2009 he was deputy director of the National Minorities and Exile Department by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, and then he was an adviser in the civic department and open government of the Communication of the Prime Minister’s Service Department. In 2011 – 2012 he was culture’s undersecretary for national minorities.
