As a keepsake of the 150th anniversary of the January Uprising, in the schools of the Vilnius region, March was announced as the Month of the January Uprising. Therefore, many occasional events took place in the region. A school contest “In the name of God for our freedom and yours” was popular among school children.

Contest “In the name of God for our freedom and yours” proceeded in two stages. In the first one, students were writing creative essay on one of the selected topics devoted to the patriotic uprising of the nation, the memory of the leaders of the uprising, the heroes known and unknown. They also attached thematic multimedia presentations or illustrations. In the second stage of the contest, their task was to demonstrate knowledge (in a test) and artistic abilities.
