The local government of the Vilnius Region held a meeting in the pedagogical-psychological clinic in the region of Vilnius

During the meeting there was a debate about how to optimize and improve the provided specialist service supporting children in a Psychological and pedagogical counselling centre in Vilnius Region which is cooperated with the Centre of Psychology and Specialist Education on February 13 this year. In the register office of  the Government Vilnius Region organized a meeting of pedagogical-psychological counseling in Vilnius region.

The meeting was attended by managers and specialists pedagogical-psychological counseling center and the regions of Vilnius: Vilnius, Širvintos, Ukmergė, Šalčininkai, Trakai, Švenčionys, Rokiski. There were also representatives of the Centre for Psychology and Education Specialist: Deputy Director Rita Kišonienė with Irene Bujauskienė specialists, Loreta Chapel Grikainienė, Dalia Žičkienė and Edita Norvaišienė. Deputy Director of Local Administration Robert Komarowski of Vilnius Region welcomed all gathered. He stressed the need to take into account the needs of each child in the learning process, the benefits that working  professionals bring to children, their parents and the entire educational institution.

Psychology and Specialist Education Centre specialists responded to the questions of the representatives of the counseling pedagogical psychological teaching process concerning the details of people with specialized needs. During the meeting they discussed how to optimize and improve the provision of specialized psycho-pedagogical assistance to children protection. The Centre specialists in psychology and pedagogy specialists, discussed the issues and proposals, promised to generalize and present representatives of the Ministry of education and science in order to improve legal base with regard to assistance in the field of education.

All the participants were grateful for the opportunity to present their plagued problems, they emphasized the necessity of such meetings in the future.

The scope of the basic activities of Pedagogy and Psychological Clinic in Vilnius Region:

– Assessment of special needs in educating children, the study of psychological problems and establishing  the school maturity of children. Keeping records of special needs students;

– Advising parents and children, teachers, professionals and educational administrations in matters of specialist teaching psychological and pedagogical issues;

– Organizing  training professionals, teachers, students and their parents;

– Coordinating the teaching services in the field of information and professional guidance and career.
