On Monday, the leaders of the coalition parties will discuss the situation in Ūkio bankas and they are awaiting the decision of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania (AWPL) concerning further work in the ruling coalition.

The spokesman of the Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičiaus, Evelina Butkutė-Lazdkauskienė informed that the session had been postponed until next Tuesday because the cabinet session concerning the situation in Ūkio bankas has been protracted.

The leader of the party “Order and Justice” (“Tvarka ir teisingumas”), Rolandas Paksas, said that during the meeting the question of the search for shale gas and the situation of Ūkio bankas will be discussed.

“In my opinion the question of shale gas will arise during the meeting. In any case, we will ponder on the issue of Ūkio bankas – why did it happen this way, what to do next? I will pose  this question for sure” – Paksas stressed.

The coalition partners are also awaiting AWPL’s decision concerning further work in the coalition. Paksas stressed that no demand has been set to AWPL and therefore, they have to determine their participation in the ruling coalition.

“We joined together of our own free will and so we can part” – said Paksas.

The leader of AWPL, Waldemar Tomaszewski, confirmed that during the session he will lay emphasis on demands of the party, however he has not specified whether the question of their further work in the coalition will be raised.

“We are planning to talk over all the issues which are important for us” – said Tomaszewski.
