Elections’ results. Partia Pracy on the first place, AWPL on the seventh place

The main election committee gave preliminary results of elections to the Sejm and referendum concerning building a new atomic station in Visaginas. The leader among parties is still Partia Pracy, whereas two thirds of the voting spoke out against building the atomic station.

Partia Pracy is on the first place (19,84 pct), on the second place there are social democrats, (18,38 pct), and on the third place conservatives (15,06 pct).

 The fourth place was given to Ruch Liberałów (8,57 pct), „Droga Odwagi” was on the fifth place (7, 98 pct). “Porządek i Sprawiedliwość” was on the sixth place (7,31 pct).

AWPL on Sunday’s elections got 5,83 pct. The other parties did not overrun the electoral threshold.

With such division of votes Partia Pracy introduces to Sejm 17 Members of Parliament, social democrats-16, conservatives-12, liberals and „Droga Odwagi” -7, „Porządek i Sprawiedliwość” – 6, and AWPL – 5.

„No” for atomic station 

Most of referendum’s participants spoke out against building a new atomic station.  62, 7 pct of electors voted against, 34,07 pct voted for. During referendum concerning building atomic station only the Zarasų-Visagino apygarda district voted for building a new atomic station (more than 65 pct).

National referendum’s results are the following:  4,05 pct or 459,2 thous. of electors voted for,   62,71 pct or 845,9 thous. – against building .

In most electoral districts 30-39 pct were for building. Less than 30 pct of support was registered in 7 districts, most of which are in Western Lithuania.

More than 40 pct of building support  got in 3 districts: Nowomiejski (Vilnius) – 40,52, Ignalińsko-Świenciański- 45,33 pct and Jeziorasy-Wisaginia- 65,26 pct.

The final decision concerning the project of building a new atomic station Lithuania should make before the 2015 end.

Ranking of the candidates on AWPL’s list in multi-member constituency

Edmund Szot, the director of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the Administration of Local Government in Vilnius District Department may boast the biggest jump in AWPL’s rankings, who moved from the last 141st place up to the 34th.

To the Sejm go 5 candidates on behalf of AWPL: starting from the first place on the list Waldemar Tomaszewski, Wanda Krawczonok, who moved from the 5th place to the 2nd, Józef Kwiatkowski (from the 7th to the 3rd), Michał Mackiewicz, who experienced fall from the 3rd place to the 4th place and Zdzisław Palewicz (jumped from the 13th place to the 5th place).

On the 6th and 7th places there are respectively Zbigniew Jedziński (no changes) and Irina Rozova (fall from the 2nd place to the 7th).

Six candidates of AWPL will Wight in the secondo round

Leonard Talmont won elections in wileński-solecznicki single-member constituency in the first round, gaining 64 pct. Whereas in six single-member constituencies candidates of Akcja Wyborcza Polaków in Lithuania went to the second round, which will take place in two weeks’ time (the 28th of October).

Member of Parliament Jarosław Narkiewcz will fight in wileńsko- trocki district with z Mingailė Binkauskaitė from Partia Pracy, deputy director of Administration Local Governmental Wileński District Rita Tamašunienė in wileńsko-szyrwincki district will fight for a MP’s seat with Živilė Pinskuvienė from Partia Pracy, councilor of local government wileński district Tadeusz Andrzejewski has a chance for getting a seat in dominated by the Polish and the Russian nowowiejski district, in which he will fight with Partia Pracy’s candidates Sergiej Ursul.

The head teacher of the school and nursery school „Wilia” Zofia Matarewicz in Justyniszki will fight with MP conservative Paulius Saudargas, mayor of solecznicki district Zdzisław Palewicz will fight for a seat in ejszysko-orański district with Algis Kašėt from Ruch Liberałów, whereas the director of the middle school in Niemież and Vilnius city councilor Zbigniew Maciejewski in Szeszkini with the minister of foreign affairs, conservative Audronius Ažubalis.
