The third year of economics and IT specialist graduates have just left the University. There have been 208 graduates since the branch has been established.

Yesterday, that is the 27th of July the ceremony of university degree diplomas awarding took place in the House of Polish Culture in Vilnius.

Three years studies at economics department were started by 126 students and 50 of them have already been awarded the economics diploma. IT studies were started by 82 students and 13 of them have already been awarded their diplomas. There are 63 graduates of this third year graduation. The diplomas of honour have been awarded to 6 people who had very good learning results. The rest of the students will defence their diplomas in September.

-University degree gives you the good foundation. I am glad that there are more and more students every year. Unfortunately, the place we rent becomes too small for us. As we don’t have the new seat, we can’t start the new departments. But we are optimistic and we hope that soon we will have the new place – said Jaroslaw Wolkonowski, the dean of the branch. He also pointed out that he is very happy that there are more and more students every year.

The branch graduates already have their professional qualification certificates. It enables them to work in Lithuania or abroad or to start the second degree studies in Lithuania or in Poland. Of course it is necessary to participate in recruitment and exams process first.

– I am glad that I am the branch graduate and it is very good that Polish was the lecture language. It helped me to become more fluent in Polish language. A family atmosphere, an individual approach, friendly attitude of teachers and students – said Jewgenija Małyszko, one of happy IT studies graduates.

– Studies are complicated, I didn’t expects so many difficulties. I had to study mathematics from the scratch, so those who think that studying here is easy, are wrong. But everything is possible if you are ready to make an effort. I am not a typical student as I graduated from high school 25 years ago – says Zyta Lukaszewicz, 45 years old economics graduate. She also points out that teaching is at a very high level and tuition fee is competitive if compared to Lithuanian universities.

– We have a reason to be happy. Today 63 people reached expertness in the most important field that is in learning. Graduates of this university are Polish culture ambassadors. I hope you will make good choices in your professional life! – said Jerzy Nikitorowicz, the chancellor of Bialystok University.

The chancellor also pointed out that the graduates achievements are their families success. It is obvious as the room was full of parents and close family of this year graduates.
